Knowing that a port is congested is useful. Knowing how congested it is, whether conditions are getting worse, and how it compares with other ports is much more useful.

That is what we built the Tradlinx Port Congestion Index (PCI) to show.

PCI monitors 1,253 ports worldwide and brings multiple congestion signals into a standardized Tradlinx Port Flow Score (TPFS). Ports can be compared on the same scale, from LOW to CONGESTED, while underlying measures such as berthing delay and vessel queues provide the operational context behind the score.

The result is a global view that can quickly move from the big picture down to individual ports.

The report includes regional congestion levels and median delays, rankings of the most congested ports, ports where conditions are improving or deteriorating, major-port comparisons, vessel queues and berthing-delay trends.

We publish a new PCI report every two weeks. Each edition provides the latest global picture and highlights the changes that matter rather than requiring teams to work through port data individually.

For teams that need the data inside their own systems, the same underlying port congestion data is also available through the Tradlinx Port Congestion API.
